The similar transactions are wrong
Updated over 10 months ago

This is what happened!

  • You attempted to recategorise your transactions. After selecting a category you want to change to, the app asked you if you want to apply the change to similar transactions.

  • You selected ‘This and past transactions’ OR ‘All current and future similar transactions’. The app took you to a new screen where it shows all the similar transactions.

  • You expected to see similar transactions to the one that you selected to recategorise, unfortunately some of the transactions are not similar to the others.

Did you know?

  • Similar transactions are identified by merchants and transaction descriptions

  • All transactions that have the same merchant would be identified as ‘similar transactions’

  • If the transaction’s merchant is not identical or Unknown, we use amounts and descriptions to identify ‘similar’, there are chances for some transfers may not be identified as similar transactions, even when the payee is the same.

  • ‘Pending transactions’ may not appear in the similar transactions list

Here are a few tips to help you resolve your issue:

1. If the transaction you selected to recategorise has a merchant. You can do a quick check to see if other transactions have a same merchant

  • Go to the Transactions screen

  • Use Search & Filter function to find the transactions you think they should be showing in ‘Similar transactions’ screen

  • Check if the merchants are exactly the same to the one in the selected transaction.

  • Check if the transactions you wanted to see in similar transactions screen are in ‘pending’ status

Still having a problem? Here are some options:

Option 1: Manually recategorise transactions to the category you want

  • Transactions are recategorised to your desired category to help you manage your money more easily.

  • It takes time and effort

  • It’s boring as you have to repeat a same process again and again
