Whether you're analysing your monthly cash flow or preparing for tax filing season, we've got you covered. We've meticulously compiled your transactions, including which accounts they originate from, along with your own personalised touches such as categorisation, notes, and tags, all conveniently organised into one comprehensive spreadsheet. This means you'll have all your financial information at your fingertips, ready to review with your family or trusted advisors, like your accountant.

But wait, there's more! To ensure you make the most out of this feature, we've prepared a helpful video tutorial. Check it out at the bottom of this page. It'll guide you through every step, making the process seamless and straightforward.

Now, let's address some frequently asked questions about this feature:

  1. What data points can I export? You can export the following data to a spreadsheet:

    • Transaction description

    • Transaction amount

    • Transaction's posted date

    • Transaction type (e.g., income, expense, transfer)

    • Account name

    • Merchant name

    • Category

    • Notes

    • Tags

  2. How can I access the CSV file? Your requested transactions are packaged into a CSV file and sent to your primary email address associated with your account. This email address must be confirmed by you as part of the registration process. If you wish to change your email address, please go to the Profile section in the app to update it in our system.

For a step-by-step guide on how to update your email address in the app, please refer to the video located at the bottom of this page.

  3. How far back can I export my data? You can export up to the last 12 months of data. This limitation is in line with our current data retention policy. However, we're actively exploring options to extend this duration in the near future to provide you with even more flexibility and access to your financial history.

  4. How can I tell if a transaction is pending? If a transaction's posted date is empty, it's likely that the transaction is pending. Our system updates transaction statuses regularly, but if you notice an empty posted date, it indicates that the transaction hasn't yet been finalised. Once it's posted, you'll see the date reflected accordingly.

  5. How many times can I download my data? You can download your data as many times as you'd like. We recommend exporting your data regularly, such as on a monthly basis, as part of best practice for financial management. This ensures you have the most up-to-date information at your disposal and helps you stay on top of your finances effectively.

  6. Can I share the spreadsheet with my trusted advisers, such as a mortgage broker? Yes, you can share your transaction data with your trusted advisers, including professionals like mortgage brokers, accountants, and financial advisers. However, it's essential to prioritise the security of your financial information. We recommend exercising caution and always password-protecting your file before sharing it with anyone. This adds an extra layer of security and ensures that only authorised individuals can access your sensitive financial data. Protecting your information is paramount to us, and we encourage you to take necessary precautions when sharing your data externally.

  7. I am encountering an error message while exporting transaction data. What should I do?

If you encounter an error message while exporting transaction data, you can troubleshoot the issue by following these steps:

    • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the app. Updates often include fixes for known issues, which may resolve the problem you're experiencing.

    • Confirm that you have at least one linked account with transactions. Export functionality requires linked accounts to retrieve transaction data.

If the issue persists after performing these steps, please don't hesitate to contact our support team for further assistance. We're here to help you resolve any issues you encounter with exporting transaction data.

  8. I am not seeing the "Export my data" option in the Settings menu. What should I do?

If you are unable to locate the "Export my data" option in the Settings menu, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

    • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the app. Updates often include new features and enhancements, and the export option may be available in the most recent version.

    • Confirm that you have at least one linked account with transactions. The export feature relies on linked accounts to retrieve transaction data.

Occasionally, the export feature may be temporarily disabled due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will make every effort to notify you in advance. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
